Suggestions
[edit]Done in part:
- This page needs references to specific people and works. Right now it's barely a dictionary entry, and the hypothetical example kind of makes the idea look rather unsophisticated. (suggestion from Rainwarrior)
To do:
- I think, better than such an example, would be a series of sound samples from various stages in the evolutionary process, demonstrating the improvement over generations, taken from someone's actual work on it (have you done any work with it that you'd like to share, uncoolbob?). Do you know of any published articles or books about "evolutionary music"? Can you cite them and incorporate material from them into this article? -- Rainwarrior 18:49, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
GenDrum? GADrum?
[edit]I'm sure there was a genetic algorithm drum loop generator (with a default tempo of 170+) around a few years ago. I can't find it now. Does anyone remember the name? Uncoolbob 22:44, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
EuroGP Song Contest
[edit]This was run by Owen somebody I think. Can somebody add more details? Was there any followup or paper? It definitely happened (I was there). Uncoolbob 22:59, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Self Citation Note
[edit]I added references to prior published work on GP and music, and these are self citations but I consulted the Wikipedia Teahouse and learned that self-citation "is allowed within reason, but only if it is relevant, conforms to the content policies, including WP:SELFPUB, and is not excessive." I think that's all true in this case. Before the edit the article gave the false impression that the first GP/music work was published in 1997. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leespector (talk • contribs) 21:34, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
Empty links
[edit]Authors should update links on these online generators - none of links aren't work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.19.3.87 (talk) 21:23, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
