Suggested additions

The symbiotic association with a photosynthetic partner (the photobiont or phycobiont), was essential in "conquering the land". That fungi didn't evolve in the sea might be useful to know. Some idea of the timing of the divergence of Eumycetes from the structurally similar slime molds (myxomycetes) and water molds (oomycetes), would all help this slender sketch. --Wetman (talk) 19:04, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References like "(Schüßler et al., 2001; Tehler et al., 2000)" without reference to the titles anywhere in the article, aren't enough to help the moderately well-prepared general reader of Wikipedia. Could someone expand these?--Wetman (talk) 01:31, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are Fungi More Like Plants or Animals?

I thought that the article was above "stub" quality, but I guess it still needs a lot of content in explaining its evolutionary relationships to other kinds of life. --Nogburt (talk) 04:27, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
