p131: "Developed by Geophysical Research Corporation, Everette DeGolyer and John C. Karcher's new company, reflection seismology could detect higher frequencies and, thereby, collect additional data. The technique's developers also added equipment to record up to six separate channels simultaneously, permitting more precise comparison of 'reflections' of energy transmitted through the earth from controlled detonations. Hoping we can develop this article rapidly, as he's an important figure for the whole Southwest region. My stub version doesn't even scratch the surface of his philanthropy, his work with the Saturday Review, the DeGolyer Estate and related Dallas Arboretum, nor his collections at SMU and at his alma mater, the University of Oklahoma.Lawikitejana (talk) 18:21, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
