"Homer, 1000 B.C."

The Iliad probably contains certain basic plot-lines and fixed poetic epithets that date back to around 1000 B.C., but it's extremely unlikely that the composition of any Homeric work as we have it today dates back substantially before 750 B.C... AnonMoos (talk) 03:12, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
