Here is the second Eurovision review, as this has been in the queue for way too long! --K. Peake 09:57, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
Infobox and lead
[edit]- Infobox looks good!
- Like the previous review, start a new sentence at the part about where the concert was held
- The lead is poorly structured again; the sentence about the nineteen countries should be the last of the first para and then merge the current third para with the second one
- "made its first entry," → "made its first entry in the concert,"
Location
[edit]- "in southern Stockholm opened in" → "of southern Stockholm opened in" to avoid overusage of in
- [5][6] needn't be invoked mid-sentence when they are already at the end of this sentence
- Add EBU in brackets
- "and future event," → "and future events,"
Participating countries
[edit]- "A total of nineteen countries" → "A total of 19 countries" per MOS:NUM
- Img looks good!
- Table looks good!
Production and format
[edit]- What exactly does [11] source for the first two sentences?
- For the majority of other years, these pages also contain the names of the executive producers and directors. This information is missing for this year however. I've now moved this ref to be immediately after the broadcaster responsible for producing the event. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:11, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Simply shorten to SR here since you have already mentioned them earlier
- "served as designer, and" → "served as designer and"
- "the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the event" → "the EBU, the event"
- Regarding the references for the last sentence of the second para, [18] and [22] appear to only source the penultimate sentence unless I'm missing something here?
- I've now moved these refs to cover the penultimate sentence only. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:11, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- "for the competing began on Wednesday 19 March," → "for the competition began on 19 March 1975,"
- Start a new sentence at "this was followed that evening" to avoid a run-on
- [9] should be invoked every two sentences for the first four sentences
- "who felt that during the" → "Bakker felt that during the" as a new sentence since this is much too long currently
Voting procedure
[edit]- "as an compromise awarding" → "as a compromise awarding"
- "the United Kingdom's BBC proposed" → "the UK's BBC proposed"
- Mention that the subsequent editions are up to 2024
Contest overview
[edit]- Imgs look good!
- "of the nineteen participating countries," → "of the 19 participating countries," per MOS:NUM
- Italicise Among Gnomes and Trolls
- "composed by Dick Bakker, written by" → "composed by Bakker, written by"
- "The United Kingdom came second" → "The UK came second"
Spokespersons
[edit]- The info about each country nominating a spokesperson and them announcing does not appear to be sourced
- This information was again included within an old version of this page. I've set the reference to dead so that the old version appears within the link instead.
Detailed voting results
[edit]- All good!
Broadcasts
[edit]- "was prevented by Sveriges Radio," → "was prevented by SR,"
- Nice job on centering the refs!
- Shouldn't BBC 1 have a space?
- Going by the BBC One article, and from what I can see elsewhere online, "BBC1" was the more common spelling for the channel before the rebranding to "BBC One". Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:11, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Notes
[edit]- Good
References
[edit]- Copyvio score looks incredible at 10.7%!!!
- Shouldn't Stockholm only be linked on the first instance per WP:OVERLINK?
- Per MOS:REPEATLINK, "[c]itations stand alone in their usage, so there is no problem with repeating the same link in many citations within an article". I'm happy to remove these links, but just wanted to make you aware for future. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:11, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Cite Sveriges Radio as publisher instead on ref 5
- Pipe Melville House UK to Melville House Publishing on ref 7
- Are you sure ref 8 is reliable since it looks like a Wiki duplicate?
- Although the name may make you think that, it is actually an official website of the Swedish broadcaster SVT. It is not a wiki, nor is it user-generated contest, as only certain individuals have access to edit the pages. See their About page (in Swedish) for more information, including editor information. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:11, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Wikilink Telos Publishing on ref 9
- WP:OVERLINK of Prestatyn on refs 10, 12, 16, 21, 23, 25 and 26
- WP:OVERLINK of Sveriges Television on ref 27 if ref 8 is kept
- WP:OVERLINK of Het Vrije Volk and Rotterdam on refs 43 and 63
- WP:OVERLINK of Radiocorriere TV on ref 59
- WP:OVERLINK of Times of Malta and Birkirkara on ref 62
- WP:OVERLINK of Madrid on refs 67 and 69
- WP:OVERLINK of BBC Genome Project on refs 81 and 82

Final comments and verdict
[edit]- On hold until all of the issues are fixed, this one was quicker than my last review you deserve it though haha! --K. Peake 21:26, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Kyle Peake: Thanks for another thorough review! Some comments above, but the majority of requests I have enacted. Please let me know if there's anything else. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:11, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Sims2aholic8: Regarding the references, I understand the guideline you linked to but please be consistent in either wikilinking repeatedly or only once since you seem to change which you do for different sources. --K. Peake 09:29, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Understood, I will strive to be more consistent with this with future GA nominations. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 16:17, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- ✓ Pass now, well done on this once again! --K. Peake 21:01, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
