Americocentrism?
[edit]Can I say that in Europe, these films are known as spy films; why should the article assume US readership? I suppose US spy films are 'Americospy films' right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by InternationalistChap (talk • contribs) 10:08, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
Should British films be included?
[edit]Should British films be included? One of the key factors of the Eurospy genre was it's blatant disregard of copyright and their imitating the original Bond films (including using "James Bond" and "007" as characters) that was forbidden to British or American films unless they called themselves a "spoof"Foofbun (talk) 23:09, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
Indeed. Gerald Thomas and Peter Rogers had an epic struggle over their Carry On Spying parody. Eon Productions begrudgingly allowed them to keep the name "Charlie Bind" for Charles Hawtrey's character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.244.185.116 (talk) 09:54, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
Bob Fleming
[edit]Bob Fleming; also the name of a recurring character in cult UK comedy sketch show The Fast Show. Given that writer/performer Charlie Higson (who played Bob) is a huge fan of the overall 007 genre, this can't be a coincidence can it?? 90.244.171.15 (talk) 11:35, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
