"Reverted good faith edits by Johnbod; It's a similar word but mostly unrelated, it should stay at the top of the page (à la not to be confused with)" - edit summary. This is lexically unsophisticated. It is exactly the same word, with the same meaning, used of a different sphere. I'd point out that under WP:NOT the page needs all the additional material it can get to justify its existence. A simple dicdef, especially if of only one sense of the word, should not have an article. Johnbod (talk) 19:23, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So we're talking about deletion of the article now? Either way, being pro-European Union doesn't have much to do with loving the European culture, they're two different things. Can we put that line back on top of the article? Disregard that. ×××BrightBlackHeaven(talk)××× 20:27, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The definition of a Europhile is too vague.

[edit]

I want to make a proposal for this definition.

A Europhile is a person who is fond of, admires, or loves European culture, philosophy, literature, music, society, history, cuisine, etc.[1][2] In politics, it may also be used to imply Pro-Europeanism, or support for the European Union for example.

I wanna change this up because the current version was vague and too basic and short to be a full-fledge article and more like a page where you find in dictionary.com. I'm afraid this may force the readers to look for more critical information outside of Wikipedia. Also, as your disagreements about the use of the term of the European Union, I may have to disagree with you right there. If a person or group encourage a country to join the European Union this also means your encouraging a country (whether be in or outside of Europe (example: Turkey and Russia) to push more in both political and economic connections with varies European countries and a seat in Brussel, where major decision-making centers and several smaller organisations take place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sambiswas95 (talkcontribs) 11:52, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
