[edit]The liberations of farmed mink by animal rights activists in Europe started in the 1990's. The decline of european mink began decades earlier, much due to hunting and loss of habitat. There is hardly a connection between the two phenomena. Also, the spreading of american mink in Europe happened a lot earlier, and by the 90's this species inhabited most of northern europe where european mink had vanished.
At least there should be a citation to back up the blaming of animal rights activists, or remove it alltogether.
