All of these should be in Wikipedia already, and any that are not should be added!

List taken verbatim from ERIH website: http://en.erih.net/index.php?pageId=3

For each entry, please do the following:

  1. Add text to article, eg: "The museum is an Anchor Point of ERIH, the [[European Route of Industrial Heritage]]."
  2. Add article to: [[Category:European Route of Industrial Heritage Anchor Points]]

Eight years on

[edit]

@EdJong- you must be feeling very lonely here! I am looking for a mind shattering boring task to do- so I'll take this in hand and update it slightly.-- Clem Rutter (talk) 21:00, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Strategy

  1. Go through current list: link or redlink each museum- note foreign language pages  — DONE
  2. Do a stub for the missing ones
  3. Go back to The Anchor point list : Merge the lists, add a themes column with compatible icons. 15 icons needed  — DONE
  4. We now have 84 in the list- make the list sortable  — DONE
-- Clem Rutter (talk) 23:56, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A ha- I have been duped. This 2007 list mixes Anchor sites with regional sites- but the none-2014 sites are clearly labelled. Chasing the missing museums often means rewriting the location article- and detoxifing POV references. But we now have three clean lists. -- Clem Rutter (talk) 23:17, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The task is manageable- there are nineteen articles to create. I have an offline text file with the bones of a stub- and a reference to the European Route of Industrial Heritage site, the tourism information network of industrial heritage in Europe site. The Anchor point detail pages give links to the location, website and a short description (enough for a stub). Wikidata linking to a site on the home site is often not helpful as much of that material is not referenced.
Museums are often not selected by notablity- more by the need to add a country and the enthusiasm of the director. Some big sites are replaced by smaller less well known sites.-- Clem Rutter (talk) 10:30, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sixteen to go: The hardest part of doing some of the remaining museums is to find a title for the article. ERIH is not very helpful as it can just collect together a few related names. A bare stub using my offline template takes 25 mins to create and link- the danger is when you get interested! I try to leave each stub as being bettered referenced and with fewer errors than the sites run by the museums- or ERIH. It is wonderful to click on the museum (en) site and have a half translated page come up. Or German words left in the French text. All my work is referenced. The next looming task is to follow some of the references I have left and take the article to Start- then C. -- Clem Rutter (talk) 11:45, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Bagged the lot. Anyone fancy a little copy-editing 80 of them need to be checked. -- Clem Rutter (talk) 20:24, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Loose ends- 2007 list

[edit]

The article is now consistent and red link free, but in doing the clean up I still had to deal with former anchor points- the ruthless would have wiped them- but there is potential information there all-be-it in the wrong place. I have parked it below, then collapsed it. Enjoy.-- Clem Rutter (talk) 16:05, 28 January 2015 (UTC) [reply]
