Multiple issues making this article INCORRECT. There are at LEAST two major distinctions that are blended here, and the result is the article is NOT complete

[edit]

Eureka City Schools manages two major sub-districts for different, complex reasons. The Eureka Elementary School District, and the Eureka Unified High School District are all different in scope, and related schools under agreements. The two classifications are NOT adequately explained in this article, but need to be further developed. The unified High School District includes multiple smaller districts that are located in Eureka contiguous unincorporated census designated neighborhoods, and nearby areas (with nearly ALL having Eureka addresses, but not located in official City Limits), while the Eureka Elementary School District (which is WHAT is actually presently detailed in the article as of Oct 7, 2015) is nearly exactly limited to the City Limits, with, perhaps, a major exception of Winship Middle School, which is not, by the way, listed in the OUTDATED map referenced in a map of Humboldt County Schools in various places, including Humboldt County Schools. Confusion is likely with careful explanation. But careful explanation is not provided. I will detail the distinction, with citation, as time permits. Eureka City Schools IS and administrative entity ONLY. Though it manages operations within the Eureka CITY Elementary Schools district and agreements among all the typically smaller districts that "feed" into the Eureka Unified High School District. These are different entities for complex reasons, including the fact that contiguous, adjacent, and nearby unincorporated Census Designated Places or areas do not want to be in the City Limits (though they begged for incorporation decades ago, BEFORE creating their own services district and fire department, which is now consolidated with the City, btw).
