Retitle page "Functional elements of the genome"?
[edit]The term "chromosomal fine structure" is not in current use in genetics/genomics. Unless I'm mistaken, a "functional element" is the species of the larger bucket identified by this phrase. Prokaryotic genomes also have functional elements ("fine structure") such as the operon, so there's no a priori reason to have this page exclude prokaryotes.
I've suggested "Functional elements of the genome" as a new title, but I invite suggestions.
I'll be checking this page over the coming weeks and, barring objections, be bold and start making the necessary changes. Flies 1 (talk) 20:08, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
