Sound Movies section
[edit]This section is not written well at all. The paragraph about "Army Wives", (Otto) Preminger is not identified specifically in opposed to (Eugene) Palette. It makes unclear who was the "admirer Of Hitler"??Dcrasno (talk) 00:54, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
This is a better explanation:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Meantime,_Darling
During filming, the director realized Eugene Pallette, cast as Maggie's father, was "an admirer of Hitler [and] was convinced that Germany would win the war." Preminger also discovered the actor was a racist when he refused to sit next to African American cast member Clarence Muse and used a racial slur to refer to him. Infuriated, the director immediately fired Pallette and, although he remains in scenes he already had filmed, the remainder of his role not yet shot was eliminated from the script.Peter 13:49, 1 January 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Majorsam (talk • contribs)

Voice in State Fair (1945)?
[edit]In the 1945 film of the movie of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical State Fair, about 30 minutes into the film the lead female character is considering riding on a roller coaster. There's a barker's voice for the ride heard in the background (the person speaking isn't visible in the scene), but it sounds like Pallette to me, his voice is very recognizable. Pallette isn't credited (many others are also uncredited, so that doesn't mean anything). I haven't attempted to figure out what studio he was under contract to at the time this film was made, to determine the liklihood that it's him. 69.230.48.3 (talk) 08:17, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
