merger proposal

[edit]

I propose merging the Hope Abbey article into this "Eugene Masonic Cemetery" article. They are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in one listing, Masonic Cemetery and Hope Abbey Mausoleum, and I think it is just simpler to treat them together. No need for links between, and complicated treatment, just merge. No rush. --doncram 19:41, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think the building is among the most remarkable parts of Masonic, given that it was designed by Ellis Lawrence. Lawrence's page links directly to the abbey as one of his works. We know a lot about the abbey's history and future work to expand the article could document restoration and list famous interments. Given the potential for expansion, we should leave it as it is. Merge. I agree that Hope Abbey should be merged with this "Eugene Masonic Cemetery" article. It is part of the cemetery and is in fact *in* the cemetery. As talk points out, it's remarkable. BUT, while there is potential for article expansion, volume-wise, not a whole lot. Merge. =//= Johnny Squeaky 06:24, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
