[edit]I just noticed that, although I explained the reason for the "accuracy dispute" notice in my edit summary, I did not do so here. The reason was the assertion about Fermat's last theorem. Since nobody's done anything, I'm going to delete that assertion and the "accuracy dispute" notice. Michael Hardy 20:38, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Surname
[edit]Does his surname have any relations to the Spanish region of Catalonia which one of its demonyms is Catalan? Aminabzz (talk) 10:56, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Likely; and likely impossible to learn a name's history in most specific cases. —Tamfang (talk) 02:46, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
Common name for E. Catalan
[edit]I have often seen him cited as Eugene Catalan but never with a middle name. I think the article should be called "Eugene Catalan" on the WP principle that the usual form of name is the article title. What do people think? Presumably some kind of survey of usage is called for. Zaslav (talk) 14:11, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
