1. Well-written: | ||
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct. |
Remove British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Do not start multiple consecutive sentences with He said Missing space Olympics.[2][3]Teklemariam
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
2c. it contains no original research.
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. |
I think you can expand it out more with the ABC News source. Here's another source you can add. Does any article specify how he qualified? Did he have any quotes pre- or post-race?
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content. |
File:Flag_of_Ethiopia.svg - Dead link for source, bonus points if you can find an official Ethiopian source on the flag. Copyright seems fine (phew) File:2010 Opening Ceremony - Ethiopia entering.jpg - seems good.
| |
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
7. Overall assessment. |
- Same old WP:CANPLACE comment ;)
- I've added the Yahoo source, but only found one useful fact to add.
- I'll have a lot to say if I ever write Ethopia at the 2006 Winter Olympics from the ABC source, but here, I've tried to stay focused on Vancouver, and not spend too much time re-hashing material fit for the Turin article.
- 2006 article is already a GA (you had a typo in Ethiopia). Kees08 (Talk) 18:53, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- Speaking of sources, most of them talk about him in relation to Turin, or before the Vancouver Games... but I found an NYT source that added some flavour to the article.
- Of course I did... Oops. Seems to be stuff that could fit in there. Courcelles (talk) 18:54, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- Kees08, see responses above. Courcelles (talk) 11:59, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Courcelles: Couple of easy things I just added, then it is good to go. Also the flag source comment. Kees08 (Talk) 18:49, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
Kees08 Small things taken care of, except for WP:CANPLACE. Dead sources are NOT changed on Commons per policy. Courcelles (talk) 18:53, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- I believe you, but link to policy? I am told to replace dead sources all the time, I could use that in future disagreements. Kees08 (Talk) 18:54, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
