Comment
[edit]'''2006-2007 Legal Issue and Closing of the school.''' There was a comment added as follows "the school has since reopened". To keep this as a document with validity as we move forward in time I would like to change the comment to "it was reopened on xy date". We don't know if the school my be close again for this or anothe issue at another time. Wikihonduras Feb 18 2007
After the article was changed to "closed for a few days". Immediately after a line was added stating "It has reopened since". These two consecutive sentences are redundant, if the school was closed for a few days it must have reopened. Also it could be misleading if for example the example the school later in its history closes again. Wikihonduras 13:57, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
I moved this statement to this page:
"Sampedran Society of International Education, which is the maximun authority of the school. SEIS has no affiliation nor has any link with Sociedad Educacional Interamericana de Tegucigalpa (SEIT). "
I agree that "Sampedran Society of International Education" doesn't seem to be correct. The term suddenly appeared and it doesn't seem to have been reference or used before to explain its origin. On the other hand the SEIT comment shouldn't be in the article, if there was clarification required, should've been placed here on the discussion page not in the article. Finally I didn't find a reference to the "Sociedad Educacional Interamericana de Tegucigalpa (SEIT)" in the article, so don't see the need to clarify something that wasn't stated to begin with. For the meantime I'll leave that the statement out untill it's been discussed properly. Wikihonduras 20:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Legal Issue
[edit]I've written a seperate section for the legal problem with direct links to a newspaper's web page which corroborates the information posted. Also links are given to assure neutrality. Any more information should be posted in this section, not the general history.Valdez007 05:14, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Unsourced material and List tags removed and restored
[edit]I noticed that two tags that a user placed on the article were removed with no discussion. Although I have to say that there wasn't any discussion to further explain the tags (specially from an unsigned user), the removal with no discussion should have not happened.
I looked at the section in dispute and does seem to have some issues. I can defintely see some WP:WEASEL words with no references ("...most students..."). Also the statement "EIS has alumni in xyx university..." reads like "currently" all these schools have eis alumni enrolled (which may or may not be true) I'd suppose that the alternate statment may have been "EIS alumni have attended xy university.." Again, this is only my POV. Nonetheless it should be backed-up with references one way or the other.
The whole statement " that these are the schools most likely to be picked by EIS alumni" should be removed. I don't think even Andover or Exeter could make such claim.
For the "list" issue I don't have a view here, maybe someone else can speak. Wikihonduras 15:44, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
I have placed a link to the school's website were information is available on how many students study abroad. Valdez007 00:10, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have put the tags back again since I couldn't find anything in the general link provided that:
- a) Shows that more than 50% of all students study abroad. Again maybe this is true, but we should avoid weasel words. Please see WP:WEASEL. Mabe you can give a more exact link URL to where this information is located, I spend some time browsing, but maybe I missed something.
- b) Currently students are attending all the listed universities. If that was not the intent let's modify the paragraph.
- c) The list issue was not addressed. I haven't found other high schools which list all the college choices of their students. This seems to be more proper to be included within the school's website, not within wikipedia (pov). But if you think otherwise please express your view.

- The whole section where it lists colleges I think should be removed. Not only people are adding and removing colleges at will, but there are no references to them. How would the reader verify this?. What I'd propose is a improving the section of graduates/alumni, there we could verify person by person where they ended up going to. Just stumbled onto this page. There appears to be some controversy regarding the school's operation. I noticed that 190.53.49.197, who just deleted a long section about the controversy seems to be a Single-purpose account. And, since all the edits appear to be about the school, I'm guessing that there might be a conflict of interest issue as well. Notmyrealname 21:23, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- I think it was more vandalism than Conflict of Interest. I read what he posted. It said "borado perros". This means literaly "Deleted you dogs". I think it was a user from a rival school or someone who simply likes to do vandalism. 72.200.29.102 02:57, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Prominent alumni
[edit]I removed a student's name, describer as semi-pro tennis player. I don't believe this qualifies anyone as "prominent". 141.157.64.95 23:50, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
