Erwin Lambeth was an important high-end North Carolina (USA) furniture manufacturer that was in business throughout the mid 20th century. Their pieces are highly collectible today and a lounge chair alone is worth well in excess of a thousand dollars. They did not mass produce furniture and designed beautiful functional pieces. It is very hard to find much information on this company. It was for the most part managed by a woman in an all male dominated industry. What little information I have gathered I have entered into this page. I know there are many people interested in their furniture and as a consequence I assume would like to know more. If the page is deleted there won't be an opportunity for anyone to contribute to the history of what was once an important company for North Carolina and mid century furniture in general. When it comes to certain important designs there is a great deal of confusion about what pieces were designed by whom and when. I am trying to help verify this. Piece by Erwin Lambeth are often wrongly attributed to more famous Designers such as Milo Baughman and Selig. Keeping this page on Wikipedia would help clear up some inaccuracies in this regard.
