YMCA
[edit]Ernie had pledged $2 million for the proposed new YMCA in Norwood, but pulled the plug on his philanthropy when they would in turn not give him the naming rights (after himself, no doubt), and that effectively killed the YMCA in Norwood. This from a man reportedly worth an estimated $1.5 BILLION. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.72.65.221 (talk) 03:27, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Good for him! Why are the Y being such jerks over it?
The Y in my town was named after the primary donor.
The Ys in many towns are named after the primary donors.
If the one in Norwood doesn't like Ernie's name, they shouldn't knock on his door.
Panhandlers!!

2009 bounty
[edit]The content of "2009 bounty" doesn't seem significant enough for inclusion on this page. I can't think of anything it adds. Trailspark (talk) 16:41, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
- For an individual whose identity is defined in large part by how he spends his considerable wealth, and is defined that way in this article, it's important for balancing all of the philanthropy spending content (and the spending on collectibles and other property) to illustrate spending to, in Boch's own words, "terrorize" an individual for engaging in political speech.
- No idea how it ended up grouped as a subsection of "Philanthropy"... there used to be considerably more balancing, critical content in the page which has been deleted over the years, so perhaps an unintentional reorganization. --▸₷truthious Ⓑandersnatch◂ 15:43, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
Trump section
[edit]Is a section about his support for Trump really necessary? I don't see the relevance. It seems inappropriate and comes off as a cheap jab disguised as encyclopedic information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fxwolf (talk • contribs) 23:08, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
