Lead is too detailed

[edit]

I tagged this article with the Lead extra info tag because the lead section contains half the details of the article, which are not covered in so much detail in the body of the article. The lead should introduce and summarize an article, providing a brief overview of the salient points, it should not contain half the details of the article, which are summarily referred to later in the article. I would keep excellent first sentence but the remainder of the lead provides too much detail. I would replace summary reference to the robbery in the body of the article with the details in the in the lead. Much of the rest of the lead is a repetition of the details in the body of the article and can be summarized briefly by omitting names and other details or even omitted completely if the lead sentence was slightly reworded to say "his neighbour" instead of "a man". See MOS:LEAD for a deeper discussion. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:32, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
