Persondata
[edit]For some reason the addition of the stub tag has rendered the Persondata field visible. Since I feel drawing attention to the need to expand the article is more important than invisible information that to my knowledge isn't even being used for anything anymore, I have deleted it. If the stub situation is resolved, the Persondata field can always be retrieved from the history. 23skidoo 15:14, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Voyager
[edit]Just for the record the information about her auditioning for Janeway comes from her convention presentations, so is legitimate information and not in violation of WP:BLP (in terms of libel). I believe it is also mentioned in Starlog magazine, if someone has access to an archive of those publications. Unfortunately Wikipedia's outdated bias against blogs disqualifies the many references to this found by Googling. 23skidoo (talk) 23:43, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- WP:BLP does not just deal with libel. It deals with any uncited facts about a subject made in a biographical article. It doesn't matter whether the claims are true, false, or even controversial. Xihr 03:46, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- Actually I disagree - BLP was conceived as Wikipedia's version of libel law. 23skidoo (talk) 14:40, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- Obviously that is its genesis, since before it Wikipedia presented all sorts of legal liabilities with the uncited nonsense that was present in biographical articles. But that doesn't change the fact that the main thrust of WP:BLP as of today is that any claims in it, even uncontroversial ones, must be removed without discussion (emphasis in original):
- "We must get the article right. Be very firm about the use of high quality references. Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons — whether the material is negative, positive, or just questionable — should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion, from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space."[1]

[edit]Sewn in? Given that in 1979 spandex had been around for a couple of decades, the 5th paragraph after the lede, "In response, Gray commented that she was aware of the sexiness of her uniform which was so tight that she had to be sewn into it" appears to be fandom. Spandex is an elastic fabric so this is unnecessary or more to the point, highly unlikely. As the statement also appears to be unsourced, perhaps it should be removed (or at least reworded?). - This is also mentioned in Hallmark channel. Sewing in actors into uniforms happened to other actors: Olivia Newton-John sewn into outfit, Olivia Newton-John was sewn into her famous tight black trousers in 'Grease' and had to be unstitched every time she needed the bathroom.. ---Lilach5 (לילך5) discuss 04:32, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
