Self-promotional tone, few relevant incoming links, dubious notability. Can easily fit into this article. 162 etc. (talk) 22:27, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article could use improvement, especially as you say in tone. A well known kayaking brand and impact on kayaking as a whole with its design and sponsorship. Parts of the article would not fit well into the merge, so I would suggest improving the article over merging it.
Have you done a search for notability sources? KeepItGoingForward (talk) 22:31, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am also troubled that you did a "merge" earlier without consultation to the talk page and didn't actually merge any of the content from Jackson Kayak to the Eric Jackson (kayaker) page. Seems more of a deleting and redirect than a merge.
The Eric Jackson page could also use some copy editing. There are a number of references not done properly. KeepItGoingForward (talk) 22:44, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The articles are both bad. I'm not seeing much secondary source coverage of the Jackson Kayak brand. My first instinct is to delete this content, but if you believe improvements can be made, then by all means please be WP:BOLD. 162 etc. (talk) 02:02, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The point though is just because something is poorly written does not mean you delete it. Consider improving things. I did a search for Jackson Kayaks and Eric Jackson and found notable sources for both. Jackson Kayaks does seem to have less though, so there is a case for a merge, but someone should do a proper deep search first. KeepItGoingForward (talk) 22:56, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, with no merge, given that the discussion is stale for more than 6 months and there has been opposition and no support; agreement that improvement is warranted. Klbrain (talk) 22:58, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
