GA on hold notes
[edit]Being nitpicky here:
- Under E15 Mission:"As the small craft turned to go, they were caught by searchlights and subjected to heavy and accurate gunfire which holded Majestic's boat causing her to sink fast." - shouldn't this read 'holed'?
- Under Later War Service:"In August, Robinson was sent to Anzac Cove as a naval liaison officer and on his second day there was badly wounded near the front line, forcing his evacuation to England, where King George V presented him with his medal at Buckingham Palace on the same day as fellow Mason ." I'm assuming there's something missing at the end there - fellow Mason what? who?
Otherwise, great work. Mocko13 03:04, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Excellent article. Promoted. - Mocko13 14:35, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
GA Sweeps (on hold)
[edit]In an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria, this article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force. Whilst the article is generally good, I have found one or two minor issues that may need to be addressed. These are:
- Prose: there are some examples of awkward and ungrammatical prose, and parts of the article would benefit from a gentle copyedit. I'm happy to undertake this myself if that would be helpful.
- Neutrality: this relates to the last sentence of the article lead, which comes across as less-than-neutral. If it can be sourced as it stands, fine, but if not it should perhaps be toned down a little.
- The licenses for some of the images may need careful checking - one is potentially obsolete,
and some of the others don't have the required information (although I may be wrong; for the life of me I can't find the relevant guidelines/policy so I'll update this when I've checked up on it further!)Ignore - browser problem! EyeSereneTALK 22:09, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
I will check back in no less than seven days. If progress is being made and the points above are being dealt with, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be renominated at WP:GAN.
Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far. Regards, EyeSereneTALK 19:30, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Improvements to article
[edit]Much of this article is based on Stephen Snelling's excellent books on VCs. However Snelling is not accurate on all aspects of Eric Robinson's career. I have links with Robinson's family and access to some family archives. My account "Kipper VC" is available on the Persona Naval Press website. I intend to make some alterations to the text. I also feel that some of the text does not read like an encyclopaedia entry and would like to suggest alterations.
