- No need to link the Confederate States of America twice in the lead
- I'm concerned about the lack of information about the monument's design. For instance, we aren't given any size dimensions. How tall is it? How wide is it? What type of stone is the pedestal made out of? How long is it? The images of it show what appears to be some sort of metal plaque on the sides of the pedestal (Close-up images on Commons suggest some sort of pictorial engraving, if this can be confirmed in RS this should be mentioned). Do any of the sources describe what that is, or if anything is written on it? I understand that some of this detail may not be recorded in sources, but it's at least worth a look.
- Sources currently in the article are formatted well enough and all appear to be reliable
- Image licensing is fine.
- Aside from the lack of detail about the design and appearance of the sculpture itself, I don't have any issues with this one. Placing on hold. Hog Farm Talk 16:10, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Hog Farm Thanks for starting this review. I should be able to address the above issues in the next few days and plan to significantly expand the description of the monument's design, among other slight formatting issues. Will let you know when these issues have been addressed. -JJonahJackalope (talk) 06:36, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- On an additional note, I was considering renaming the article to "Equestrian statue of John Brown Gordon" following the manual of style for portrait sculptures. Do you know if moving the article would cause any issues with regards to the GA review process? Thanks, -JJonahJackalope (talk) 06:41, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hog Farm I went ahead and made some edits to the page addressing some of the concerns you had. Delinked the second CSA link in the lede section. Additionally, I expanded the section on the monument's design, adding the material the pedestal is made of as well as information on the plaques affixed to the pedestal. Additionally, I added a gallery for these plaques, which I believe is in line with the manual of style regarding the use of galleries. After some fairly extensive research through the sources, I could not find pertinent information regarding dimensions for the monument, but if I am able to find a reliable source in the future that describes the height / width/ length of the monument in any way, I shall update the page accordingly. If this adequately addresses all your concerns, I was still wondering about moving the page to "Equestrian statue of John Brown Gordon" and in particular how that would affect the GA review process, if at all. Thanks again for the review, --JJonahJackalope (talk) 20:56, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- Looks good to me. If dimensions aren't in RS, there's nothing that can really be done here. Design section looks better. Passing. As to the move - Legobot, which runs the GA list, is kinda finicky. So on the move, I'd recommend waiting until after you've received the talk page notice that it passed to make the page move. Hog Farm Talk 00:59, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
