Excessive borrowing from source

Big chunks of the article closely follow this, probably too closely. I did some re-writing but more is required and other sources should be brought in as well Elinruby (talk) 19:24, 19 November 2017 (UTC)

President?

The president is listed as someone named Daisy Duda, who has no Wikipedia page and no Google results. The vice president's page lists this man as president: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teodoro_Obiang_Nguema_Mbasogo

Unsure which is correct, please fix — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.71.228.150 (talk) 05:55, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Presidential system vs semi-presidential system

I've noticed that the Constitution of Equatorial Guinea specifically says that the Prime Minister is head of government, but is appointed by the President. The President is popularly elected and has significant powers (e.g. can dissolve the legislature, commands the military, can provide clemency, can veto legislation, etc.), and hence Equatorial Guinea's system sounds like a semi-presidential system, specifically of the premier-presidential variety as the President does not seem to be able to dismiss the Prime Minister. One party state

I think we need to describe the country as a one party state as a “dominant party” assumes there is still some opposition. In this country there is only one seat in parliament occupied by an opposing party so it can be fair to call it one party. BakedGoods357 (talk) 19:17, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Also according to the latest election they lost that one seat BakedGoods357 (talk) 19:19, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Largest City

The article states that Bata is the largest city in the country, but the Wikipedia articles for Bata and Malabo contradict this, with Malabo having a higher recorded population. Additionally, the Wikipedia article for "List of cities in Equatorial Guinea" shows Bata as the largest city, but that article has no references at all (although that's a separate issue from this article). I was unable to find any resources online that prove Bata is the largest city, but perhaps someone else may be able to find something. 2607:FEA8:1D61:6020:BC03:B8E7:E4B5:6848 (talk) 19:59, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

This list also suggest Bata was most populous, but the source is 2005 census and nothing since: List of cities in Equatorial Guinea 84.214.90.175 (talk) 06:42, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
