"The Epson R-D1 is the first professional grade digital camera to benefit from a free software update that will bring it up to the specifications of its successor (named R-D1s). Nikon and Kodak have both offered such firmware upgrades but they have not been free[citation needed]." that's just not true. nikon released a firmware update for the d70, which includes the better AF from the d70s. I'm gonna delete that part. source: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0504/05042002nikon70firmware.asp Balou (talk) 22:48, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"An unusual feature to note on the RD-1 is that it is a digital camera that has a mechanical shutter" - oh really? What's so unusual in that? Mechanical shutters been there for ages, mechanical shutters in digital cameras been there too (although for not that long). What's so unusual with that? I also reacted to that statement - I had a Fuji bridge camera built in 2001, and i'm 99% sure it had a mechanical shutter. Kyrsjo (talk) 13:51, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
