Requested move

[edit]

Savvis CenterScottrade Center – Somebody did a copy and paste instead of just moving the page, resulting in the current page having a 3 day old history compared to the 2 1/2 year history the old one had. TJ Spyke 06:09, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have reversed the cut&paste move. If this page has to be moved, next time use the "move" tag at the top of the screen. Eugène van der Pijll 16:50, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The histories were merged and the move was performed, since this is the current name of the place and the only reason it wasn't simply moved was because another page was blocking it, which is fixed now. - Bobet 12:51, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Insignificant Events

[edit]

Under the "Notable Events" category, I removed events which were certainly not notable. Final Fours and the Pope visiting are notable. If the concert is one-of-a-kind or famous for some reason, that's different. Individual concerts which happen on a tour which hits every other big city in America are not notable. I removed Eric Clapton, et al. Gloriamarie 19:47, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone get an infobox here?

[edit]

As I'm too busy to do it, could someone requisition the needed data for an infobox on this barn? Use the examples on any other NHL arena page.--ChicosBailBonds 04:46, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ownership

[edit]

According to Scottrade Center - Ownership of the St. Louis Sports Arena & the St. Louis Blues Hockey Team:
'Scottrade Center is owned by the City of St. Louis but was privately developed and financed by Kiel Center Partners, L.P., a group of 19 Civic Progress companies.'
'In June of 2006, Dave Checketts and Sports Capital Partners were officially introduced as the new owners of the St. Louis Blues and Scottrade Center. Sports Capital Partners privately operates the arena under a long-term lease agreement with the City of St. Louis.'

New Photographs

[edit]

Do you think that somebody could upload some more photos on the article, as it needs some to be more visually appealing. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by RecoveryFan3 (talkcontribs) 23:52, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I like how it is, just the logo. User:Caleb Woods —Preceding undated comment added 18:23, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Name change

[edit]

The article needs to return to Scottrade Center until the name change becomes official, which the sources say will not close until September 2017. At the very least, wait until the arena's website is renamed. Future dates should never be used in an article that is discussing the present and/or past, such as the sentence "The arena opened in 1994 and was known as Kiel Center until 2000, Savvis Center from 2000 to 2006 and Scottrade Center from 2006 to 2017." 2017 hasn't happened yet, so that's a violation of WP:CRYSTAL. --JonRidinger (talk) 14:48, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

JonRidinger, I changed it. I did not read the rules yet because I'm still new, but I will read them so as possible. so I'm sorry. -- CalebWoods.

No worries! I put in a technical request to have it moved since it won't let me move it back. Thanks for the updated photo of the outside! --JonRidinger (talk) 15:28, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

JonRidinger, Your very welcome, the other one was getting old so I decided to update it, it might be deleted though, I'm trying to keep it on there. -- Caleb Woods —Preceding undated comment added 15:34, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As long as you took the photo yourself, it shouldn't be a problem. --JonRidinger (talk) 15:50, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

JonRidinger I didn't take the photo, I credited to Scottrade Center for it. -- Caleb Woods —Preceding undated comment added 16:03, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK. What we may need to do is go back to the previous photo for now since it's a free license. We generally can't use copyrighted photos here unless we have a valid fair-use rationale (meaning it's not possible to get a freely-licensed photo, so we're justified in using them here), and since the building is still standing, it's definitely possible to acquire one. Best way is if you're ever at the arena, get a photo and upload it to the Wikimedia Commons. "Own work" for photos means you took the photo yourself and own the rights to it. Even properly crediting photos isn't enough to justify using them here. --JonRidinger (talk) 16:41, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

JonRidinger, I just found it off of Google but ok. -- Caleb Woods —Preceding undated comment added 17:16, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Concerts and insignificant events

[edit]

Reviving a discussion that originally began twelve(!) years ago that never went anywhere - I've removed the full list of the concerts hosted by the facility. I do not feel that they should all be listed, because it shifts the article from being encyclopedic to being very much like a promotional history that is better suited for the facility's website rather than Wikipedia. In the case of the concerts, I took them out in a single edit, so that they may be easily retrieved via a copy and paste between diffs for reinsertion, should that be the consensus reached by this discussion. I will be making similar edits with the other events.

I feel that we should concentrate on major concerts (first time an artist played St. Louis, a show of other historical significance, etc) rather than a running list. StrikerforceTalk 16:10, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Name change to Enterprise Center

[edit]

Please do not change the name to Enterprise Center until July 1. Even though the official website, etc. has changed, the name change does not start until July 1. Thank you. Caleb Woods (talk) 12:18, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Today's the day
