There are two links, one each in the first and second paragraphs of the "Early translations" that need to be restructured to conform to sourcing guidelines. -- Otr500 (talk) 16:11, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of Tafsir should not be counted

[edit]

At the bottom of this article translations of very lengthy tafsir into English are counted as Qur'an translations (ex. Tafsir Daryabadi, Ma'ariful Qur'an, Anwarul Bayan, Tafsir ibn Kathir, etc.). These are included largely on the page "List of Tafsir works" and I argue should be removed from this page as they're multi-volume tafsir and not primarily translations. Something which is a unique translation like Muhammad Asad or the Study Qur'an I think should still be counted on this list. Also, the section that these translations are in is redundant and misleading because plenty of the translators on the chronological list are Sunni. This section was created to push a personal agenda some translations are superior to others/more reliable based on their sectarian affiliation. --Zaynab1418 (talk) 18:19, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This page looks awful

[edit]

This page is a complete mess. It is now worse than it was before. The ideological section on Sunni authors has been readded to the top. I don’t understand the value of creating a chart listing “complete” editions when virtually all of these Qur’ans are complete and they’re already listed. Why is the way of sorting Sunni, time period, reformist, from Urdu and then a chart? I suggest we break it down into sect to avoid editing conflict, but I still think tafsir are not appropriate to include on this page. --Zaynab1418 (talk) 23:08, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
