"Only congregation in..."
[edit]This is actually a bit of a joke, and these bylines throughout the districts can be done away with. These notes are especially a joke to mention in a district such as this one, as the English District is one of the non-geographic districts of the LCMS. --Dulcimerist 10:28, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I realize it's obviously more pronounced and awkward with this district (and the SELC), but it does help readers quickly locate the churches in each state rather than having to search the list. MisfitToys 23:26, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Non-geographic Districts
[edit]A special note could be made on the different times there have been resolutions brought before the Synodical Convention that would dissolve the non-geographic districts, absorbing those congregations into the normal geographic districts. I can't remember which years an overture of this nature was made, though. This would be of interest to the article. --Dulcimerist 10:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- The first time it was suggested that the English District dissolve was back in 1923. This fact is located here: English District History --Dulcimerist 10:38, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
I am removing the extended list of congregations & missions. I certainly see the value of an article on a middle judicatory for a major american denomination, but not for the directory style list. Athanasius • Quicumque vult 18:45, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
