Water discovery?

- It's complete bollocks. Here's the processed version of the image and here's some context. Looks like sand to me. Also, the rover was on a π/9 slope when the picture was taken. MER-C 04:13, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Since this explanation has been accepted by the original writer of the news report, I have removed the claim from the wiki article. It does not seem to warrant further mention. Crescentnebula 14:34, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
