Dubious

[edit]

I have marked as dubious two paragraphs that came from a user who appears to have a history of vandalism and frivolous edits. They should be either cited for or removed. - Jmabel | Talk 17:20, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Daddy?

[edit]

The following paragraph puzzles me: Eldest daughter Carol (Dinah Manoff) was a neurotic and high-strung recent divorcee, while middle daughter Barbara (Kristy McNichol) was an undercover police officer. The two sisters frequently bickered and vied for the attention of their father (who they still called "Daddy").

What else would they call him? Father is too proper and much too British, and to call him by his first name is improper. Daddy is exactly what they should call him, at least in the United States.

How about "Dad"? --Angry mob mulls options (talk) 05:14, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dad seems more usual in the US for adults to call their father.

Spin-off

[edit]

This article states the show is not a "true" Golden Girls spin-off as its pilot wasn't an episode of "The Golden Girls". Does this mean there was a second pilot? Although there was much retooling after the Golden Girls episode "Empty Nests", surely it still counts as a pilot? Smurfmeister (talk) 15:49, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guest Stars

[edit]

There's only a few names in the notable guest stars. We need more. --E2e3v6 (talk) 01:15, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article actually doesn't need an exhaustive list of guest stars as Wikipedia is not IMDb. However there needs to be some basis of inclusion for listing guest stars (ie a guest star as a rating stunt, etc.). I personally don't see a problem with a short list, especially since the show is a spin-off of The Golden Girls and all four actress reprised their characters on the show, but since this seems to be an issue, there needs to be some sort of consensus reached about listing the rest. I haven't removed the few guest stars that were listed, but I did move them to an appropriate place as the list did not need its very own section and the accompanying text wasn't encyclopedic. I just cut down the guest star section because, again, this section should not be an exhaustive list which is exactly what it was turning into. The names included should be names that most people are familiar with - not the name of every actor who just happened to appear on the show. Pinkadelica 00:08, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Empty Nest. Please take a moment to review my edit. Dear John?

[edit]

Why the See Also link to Dear John? What is the connection between the two shows? 2601:188:C502:7F50:1523:DB39:6D7B:9CE0 (talk) 05:59, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
