Transliteration
[edit]- Genna 3, on the 26th day of the 8th month (1617): Former-Emperor Go-Yōzei died. He is buried at the Temple of "Ni kwo".[1]
- Don't know about transliteration of what Titsingh wrote, but he is buried in Fukakusa no Kita no Misasagi.
- Kan'ei gannen or Kan'ei 1 (1624): Construction on the "Fo ye zan" Temple began.[2]
- I checked a couple of very detailed chronologies and found no references at all to a temple being constructed in this year. Even if it was, modern historians haven't deemed it important enough to keep in chronologies that are far more detailed than what is included in this article, so I have deleted it as being unverified.
- Kan'ei 3 (1626): Go-Mizunoo took himself to "Ni zio" Castle, which had been built in 1587 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.[3]
- This is clearly Nijō Castle, and I found a more specific date in my chronology. Note that this is a precursor to the Nijō Castle described in the English article and it was indeed built by Hideyoshi (there have been 4 Nijō castles altogether, the last being the one built by Ieyasu), but the year of construction I found for Hideyoshi's temple was 1586.
Can you figure out how to convert these 1834 transliterations into a place names with a more conventional spelling? Ooperhoofd 16:36, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
