This article is not written in a detached tone. For example, the phrase “Consort Wu was intelligent and full of machinations” is weirdly judgmental and gendered. From the rest of the article, it sounds like the entire court was full of schemers. Dandelionlily (talk) 17:18, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Quotations

It seems unlikely that we have genuine quotations of what the Emperor and Empress said over a thousand years ago, as is asserted in section “Middle reign: Empress Wu's aggrandization of power”.
