[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Emmanuel Okwi. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}

Caps
[edit]Hi @Robby.is.on:, I've been using National Football Teams as a reference which lists Okwi as having the following:
Fifa matches: 71 Fifa goals: 25 Non Fifa matches: 7 Non Fifa goals: 1
As I posted in my revert, the use of a nation's cap number appears to be shown on Wikipedia. Examples of this include: Vitālijs Astafjevs, Salman Isa, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Robbie Keane.

- Thanks for starting a discussion. My understanding is that non-FIFA matches should not be counted. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to dig up a discussion at WP:FOOTY that confirms this. It's frustrating that there seems to be disagreement over the issue because this results in needless back-and-forth I have seen not only at this article but also elsewhere.
- Oh, I did find this but not much "discussion" there. ;-) Robby.is.on (talk) 20:54, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hey @Robby.is.on:, I was of the same opinion, did a massive edit on List of men's footballers with 100 or more international caps, only for it to be reverted as I'd used FIFA caps rather than the national teams. I was fuming but as I was overruled on the consensus in the Talk, I begrudgingly accepted it. I do agree that using FIFA's caps would simplify the arguments but then again just because the matches were against Guadeloupe or Zanzibar should they really not count? Or the same if they were in an Olympic qualifier? I see both sides but as the national team stat is the one that crops up more, it'd be a massive hassle / overhaul to amend them all and reference why it's been done, I'm alright with including all international results (if correctly sourced!) Thanks for the template as well - I'm slowly making my way through List of top international men's football goal scorers by country attempting to verify with mixed success! - Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. We probably need another central discussion at WP:FOOTY. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:44, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
