As of December 2020 the Emma L. Shaw article is mainly cut-and-paste sections from three public domain articles. An encyclopedia shouldn't be word-for-word what was written 100 years ago, it should be a neutral summarizing of what was found in various sources.
Another major problem is that most of the article is about Shaw's hard work and devotion to her friend Ella Farman. The article should have a "personal life" section, but the reason Shaw is noteworthy is because she wrote articles and edited magazines. There is no list of what she wrote, or just how she helped edit Wide Awake or other magazines.
I'll wait a while to see if anyone has comments about what should be done to improve this article. If, after a month, no one comments on why the article should stay the way it is now I'll begin condensing the sections on Shaw's unhappy personal life, and add what I can find on what her literary work consisted of. I just shortened this article, but believe it is improved, for it had been filled with cut-and-paste flowery language from 1890s public domain articles. At the bottom are links to the old articles, in case anyone wishes to read through them. Karenthewriter (talk) 03:01, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
