[edit]This is the discussion page.
This is someone with more names than the typical person. Historians in the field call her "Emily". Her descendants actually refer to her as Emily. Neither write about her with a third person-sounding surname of Perry (as opposed to Austin, Bryan, or any other). It's odd to see her described as "Perry". I am going to look into switching these edits back so she is discussed as "Emily" in various portions of the article. Bull Market 14:02, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- The James Bryan page needs to be constructed and properly redirected. There will be need for a disambiguation page.

- Working on Emily ancestor portion, to make it succint and relevant. So many descend from Moses Austin to begin with, it's facsinating and adds relevance to go back further and see if noteworthy people are in Emily's past (and therefore Stephen F. Austin's past and in some cases Moses Austin's past. Thank you.Bull Market 07:59, 20 March 2010 (UTC)t
- Alittle confused. It states Emily got the rest of her brother's estate after "Brown Austin's" 8 years old son died in 1837. If "Brown Austin" is Emily, there is no son born to her in 1929 nor did I see any son named Stephen F. Austin Jr.. Stephen F. Austin Sr. died without any kids. LynniMarie (talk) 18:53, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- LynniMarie: Good question. Stephen F. Austin, Jr. was not the direct son of Stephen F. Austin. Rather, Stephen F. Austin, Jr. was the nephew of Stephen F. Austin but named for Stephen F. Austin, nonetheless. Stephen F. Austin, Jr., son of Eliza Martha Brown (formerly Westall) and James E. Brown Austin. Bull Market 18:47, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Article layout and headers
[edit]There is an issue with the current version of this article layout and headers, per MOS we do not add article headers for a single sentence or two so they need consolidation. It would be additionally helpful if this article read more as a biography, with a sense of the timeline of her life. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 13:53, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
