Human Rights Campaign
[edit]That a gay-rights group gave a mediocre-to-low score to the company for not embracing the group's agenda is hardly central to an explanation of what the company is.

Commercial Cam Co. Inc.
[edit]once? was a subsidiary of Emerson Electric - made programmable controllers - possibly motion control? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.243.106.82 (talk) 05:51, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
Headquarters city
[edit]Though Emerson's corporate site lists "St. Louis" as the site of its corporate headquarters, it is actually located in Ferguson, MO. Should the article and infobox reflect that? Kirkman 04:29, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it should. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:48, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Distributors
[edit]Is it really relevant to list distributers for a world wide company? I mean listing the distributors for different Emerson companies for the rest of the world would be crazy... P.o.h 10:37, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Environmental Record
[edit]Rationale: Univ of Mass’s PERI issued an updated report in April 2008 and Emerson’s ranking changed. This is the update I propose and the footnote will be linked to the latest study at http://www.peri.umass.edu/toxic100_index/ -- Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst have identified Emerson as the 97th largest corporate producer of air pollution in the United States, down from its previous rank of 56th. [2] Major pollutants indicated by the study include nickel compounds, manganese, diisocyanate, and lead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tammyf07 (talk • contribs) 19:59, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Avocent Merger
[edit]The article should be updated with details on this. - 121.44.197.16 (talk) 15:13, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Fisher Controls International
[edit]"Fisher Controls" redirects to Emerson Electric. I know Fisher was bought by Emerson, but it's history isn't even mentioned. Fisher Controls had a book written on it's history for it's 125th anniversary. Their should be no lack of information, and they should be linked to in each others pages but it shouldn't redirect.Quasyhumonoid (talk) 04:33, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- It would seem appropriate to have a section about "Fisher Controls" which was renamed "Emerson Process Management" after acquisition. --Bejnar (talk) 16:17, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
Proposed move
[edit]Emerson Electric Company → Emerson Electric – Listed as Emerson Electric on the Fortune 500. Here's one source from this week that scrapped the suffix. [1] See also the ongoing move discussion at Talk:Graybar Electric Company. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 17:37, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Section for Therm-O-Disc
[edit]One of the companies that Emerson owns is Therm-O-Disc. While they are mentioned in over 1,000 patents, and have 79 non-patent hits at Google Scholar including a couple dealing with caselaw, there does not appear to be a whole lot in the way of more than incidental coverage. "Therm-O-Disc earns Carrier, Whirlpool quality awards". Appliance. 48.9 (September 1991) p.20, was a nice 100 words about them. There were the usual new product annoucement articles like Fritzenger, Dan. "Schottky diode key to tight temperature control." Design News 26 March 2001: p. 77; "Sensitive sensing". Chemistry and Industry .21 (1 November 2004) p. 13; and acquisition annoucements like "McGill Electrical now Therm-O-Disc entity" Appliance. 49.1 (January 1992): p. 19. They have satisfactory ~750 words each in the directories NAICS 334512 - Automatic Environmental Systems. Manufacturing & Distribution USA: Industry Analyses, Statistics and Leading Companies. ed. Arsen J. Darnay and Joyce P. Simkin. Vol. 2. 5th ed. Detroit: Gale, 2009. pp. 1288-1292; and NAICS 335314 - Relay and Industrial Control Manufacturing. Manufacturing & Distribution USA: Industry Analyses, Statistics and Leading Companies. ed. Arsen J. Darnay and Joyce P. Simkin. Vol. 2. 5th ed. Detroit: Gale, 2009. pp. 1388-1393. There was a short article in Japan-U.S. Business Report volume 362 (November 1999) dealing with an emerging market for their new safety switch. And there were things like "Therm-O-Disc gets $1M Ohio tech grant" TendersInfo News. (28 April 2010) and "St. Thomas losing plant" [St. Thomas Ontario]. Globe & Mail (Toronto, Canada). (15 October 1990), Business News Section, p. B6. Brief mentions of personnel changes like "Therm-O-Disc. (Places and Faces)". Engineered Systems. 19.12 (December 2002) p. 88; "Therm-O-Disc. (People On The Move)". Appliance Manufacturer. 50.8 (August 2002) p. 14; and "Therm-O-Disc, Incorporated". Appliance. 58.9 (September 2001) p. 23. Short, ~30 word count, about plant openings such as "Therm-O-Disc opens facility in China" Heating/Piping/Air Conditioning Engineering 75.1 (January 2003) p. 16, and "Therm-O-Disc opens in Hungary" Appliance 51.12 (December 1994) p. 11. Altogether there were 82 articles in magazines like ''Appliance and Engineered Systems, most of which seem to have been inspired by news releases from the company. A somewhat longer than usual article (447 words) said: A wealth of expertise in bimetal temperature controls and thermistors has given Therm-O-Disc, Mansfield, Ohio, a strong and well-established position in those areas. Babyak, Richard J. (1998). "Sense & Switch". Appliance Manufacturer. 1998 (July): 50., but it primarily dealt with Therm-O-Disc's rosy future. Therm-O-Disc got a nice send-up for taking care of employee's external stressors in Sammer. Joanne (2012). "Financial education--stress = improved productivity: making employees more money-savvy has a measurable return on investment". HRMagazine. 57 (6): 70–?.. And "Implementing Cryogenic Cooling On an Oven". Process Heating. 8.3 (April 2001) p. 45, was quite interesting, about making an oven both a heating and cooling facility (I'd wished the article was longer.), but again the coverage of the company was superficial. The result of a deletion discussion for Therm-O-Disc was to redirect it to this article. It would seem that Therm-O-Disc could rate a section here. --Bejnar (talk) 16:06, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

[edit]JUST HOW MANY AFRCIAN AMERICANS(PRIMARILY,) AND OTHER COLORED PEOPLE ARE EMPLOYED AT EDISON, AND AT THE MANAGERIAL, AND EXECUTIVE LEVEL? Quiet Kool
[edit]Emerson quiet kool redirects to this page, but it's unaffiliated with Emerson Electric. It should get its own page, or, at the very least, be disassociated with this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cause4complex (talk • contribs) 19:40, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
