"Diapause" should not be redirected to "Mammalian embryonic diapause" as diapause is not unique to mammals. Diapause is mostly associated with insects, who enter into diapause to survive the winter. --Farnkerl 13:34, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Delayed Implantation
[edit]I noticed that the mustelid pages tend to use the term 'delayed implantation' (some are red linked, some didn't mark a link) instead of embryonic diapause. I will see if I can figure out how to redirect 'delayed implantation'. wagors 00:53, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Brown Bears Don't Hibernate
[edit]While Brown Bears might very well undergo embryonic diapause, they do not hibernate, so I removed that unreferenced paragraph. Instead I used the example of the Roe Deer, not as interesting, as the mechanism is not fully understood, but more accurate than stating that their embryos implant during hibernation... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reizei Kaida (talk • contribs) 21:50, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Sucking Stimulus
[edit]Is sucking the right word, or would suckling be more appropriate?
- Meaning #3: feeding an infant by giving suck at the breast

Embryonic diapause in fish
[edit]Apparently, embryonic diapause also occurs in fish, so that really should be included in this article. (But, I know nothing about it, except for one sentence in the lead to the article Diapause. Acwilson9 (talk) 05:22, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

I have several relatively recent secondary sources (as well as some other, older sources which have previously been cited) which indicate that embryonic diapause is not exclusive to mammals and fish. I intend to expand this article to discuss these as well, and just specify any details provided that are specific to uterine embryonic diapause. Mnielander2022 (talk) 01:19, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
