can we extend this to GNU?
There has been some criticism that GNU follows a "embrace, extend and extinguish" model with its software, taking the standard, extending it, not documenting its extensions as non-standard, and encouraging more use, and finally users are forced into using GNU software. It shouldn't be hard to Google for who made these claims. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Voomoo (talk • contribs) 13:22, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Also, we need to add Barnes & Nobles to the list - http://techcrunch.com/2013/05/08/microsoft-mulling-nook-media-llc-purchase-for-1-billion/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.12.190.152 (talk) 08:00, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
