- I withdraw my nomination – The competition has already ended. — Ætoms [talk] 10:17, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Ætoms:, you could change the hook. Sahaib (talk) 15:57, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
- Well, how about (with image caption "Previous coat of arms of Curaçao"):
- ALT1 ... that a design competition was held to find a replacement for the coat of arms of Curaçao, which was replaced on 10 October 2022 by a new national emblem?
- as an alternative hook? There's no need to fail the nomination, as people might still be interested to check out the winner. As a side note @Ætoms, next time you nominated something time-sensitive, request that it be run at a specific date (in this case, before 10 October), to make sure that DYK queue builders know about it (things get buried). –LordPeterII (talk) 16:59, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
Note that the page has been moved to Emblem of Curaçao. Schwede66 04:49, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Just putting a tick here to indicate that the original hook makes no sense anymore, and a new one would have to be approved. –LordPeterII (talk) 20:46, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hmm maybe rather this tick, there's a new hook that needs reviewing. –LordPeterII (talk) 19:22, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- I think the new hook is okay but it could be reworded. It seems to focus more on the competition rather than the new emblem. Maybe focus on the fact that the emblem is new and was the result of a competition? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:18, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- It seems that, contrary to previous reports, the new emblem has not been adopted yet. The official emblem will be based on the winning design and is yet to be revealed. The government of Curaçao is currently still using the coat of arms as its logo. — Ætoms [talk] 16:57, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- How about a slightly-modified version of ALT1 that doesn't mention that it's been replaced?
- ALT1a ... that a design competition was held in 2022 to find a replacement for the coat of arms of Curaçao (pictured)?
- Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:15, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, that works! — Ætoms [talk] 12:51, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Sahaib: can you take another look at ALT1a? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 00:29, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5:, ALT1a meets the WP:HOOK guidelines. Sahaib (talk) 08:44, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
- I guess I'll be approving ALT1a then despite proposing it, given that it's just a cut-down version of ALT1 that doesn't introduce any new facts. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:00, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

Replace Coat of Arms
[edit]The contest ended, could someone update the coat of arms and details about the contest? M4sugared (talk) 02:01, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
- Will do ASAP! — Ætoms [talk] 10:14, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
Don't know how to add here: the contested ended, the emblem has not yet been adopted. There is alot of controversy about using stock images. The old CoA is still used in all government communications. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.104.104.208 (talk) 11:25, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
