Release date

[edit]

Since there's some back and forth on this, I'll write it out here for explanation.

  • The official word from the band is Spring 2018.
  • However, on Wikipedia, we don't use terms like seasons, because different seasons mean different timeframes to different areas. See MOS:SEASON for the relevant guideline, or even just the article for seasons for more info on the general concept.
  • Breaking Benjamin is a US band, and the sources are from US websites, so its safe to say they mean US Spring, which is the April to June ballpark. Which, per MOS:SEASON, means "Second quarter of 2018", or "Q2 2018", is the most appropriate thing to use.

I know that it's maybe not the most natural sounding wording, but it is the most accurate. An exact release date will be coming soon, so it's only a temporary fix for now. Sergecross73 msg me 16:38, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Altwire

[edit]

This keeps coming up, so to discuss.

Is Altwire a reliable source in the Wikipedia sense? Here's my thoughts on it:

  • Positives
    • They have an About Us page, which shows an established staff with dedicated roles.
  • Neutral
    • They've been around for 5 years. So not a new blog that popped up overnight, but not particularly established in the industry either.
  • Negatives
    • None of their writers have any credentials or education listed. Just names and titles. So its hard to tell if they have any credentials.
    • I'm not seeing any sort of editorial/review/ethics type policies of any type. There's no real sign of editorial oversight outside of a staffer who has the word "editor" in their job title.
    • Their about us page says "Interested in submitting content or becoming a writer for AltWire? I think that "or" is crucial. It seems to indicated that they accept submissions from people who aren't on the staff or have any intentions of being staff.

Overally, I'm leaning unreliable. Thoughts? Sergecross73 msg me 18:48, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'd tend to agree overall, pending further information. However, it should be noted that they've conducted several interviews with pretty big bands—Anthrax, Flyleaf, Three Doors Down, and I'm sure others. Does this count for anything? I wouldn't really know. User:Jacedc (talk) 00:18, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's worth something, but a relatively minor amount. Nothing that would really tip the scales. I've started a discussion here. Its kinda stalled at the moment, but hopefully it'll pick up again. There may be more insight there. Sergecross73 msg me 12:49, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for providing a source for this claim. Not sure why that's so hard for everyone else. I've added it to the article. Sergecross73 msg me 14:25, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
