•~2001 researches to improve line, vehicles, time table and especially possible profit of electrifying
•2002 decision to to electrify in a package: not only Elsenztalbahn, also the branch from Meckesheim to Aglasterhausen (Badenian Schwarzbach valley line) and the secondary line connecting Steinsfurt on Elsenztalbahn with Eppingen on Kraichgau line (connecting Heilbronn on Neckar river with the former captital of Badenia and important town of Karlsruhe) were destinated to receive a catenary
•2003 decision to incorporate the three lines into the systems of Rhein-Neckar-S-Bahn and Stadtbahn Karlsruhe-Heilbronn
•2009-10 in beginning of this month, for five days all trains are steam hauled with historic coaches. At this happening, steam fans where seen even from overseas. Immediatially afterward, the planned reconstruction began, during which the line suffered several closings (several weeks each) due to save money for reconstruction
•2009-12 inauguration of electrifications and Rhein-Neckar-S-Bahn network extensions
