Irrelevant text
[edit]A paragraph in the lead read:
A street east of the airport which once led to the hamlet is named "Elmbank Road", though nothing remains of the former community.
This was added to let readers know that nothing remains of Elmbank except for Elmbank Road. Nothing. It's a ghost town.
An editor has twice changed that sentence to read:
A part of the original Britannia Rd. still exists, as a street east of the airport named "Elmbank Road", though nothing remains of the former community itself. A portion of Fifth Line was also removed, but the road still survives north of Derry Road as today's Torbram Road.
Neither Derry Road nor Torbram Road are even mentioned in the article, so why awkwardly shoehorn them into the lead? This article isn't a travelguide for readers wishing to visit, nor is it a history of the early roads of Mississauga. Adding this extra information about which early roads needed to divert around the airport is completely irrelevant to the history of Elmbank. The input of others would be appreciated.
