Pulitzer?

[edit]

According to http://sirius.com/SiriusLeft, Henican is a Pulitzer Prize winner. Is that true? Taco Deposit | Talk-o to Taco 04:20, September 4, 2005 (UTC)

According to his bio (http://www.henican.com/portal/modules.php?name=Bio) he led "the paper to a Pulitzer Prize for the Union Square train wreck." It doesn't say whether the Pulitzer is in Henican's name, but he takes at least some of the credit for Newsday's Pulitzer.

The link to the Charlie Sheen and Alex Jones interviews should be deleted becuase (a) it is not central to this journalist's career, (b) adds little encyclopedic value to this article, (c) that page is up for deletion, and (d) I suspect it is a POV fork. --mtz206 02:48, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for you comment. However, i do not agree with any of the points you maid. I did not creat Charlie Sheen and Alex Jones interviews to have a pov Fork, i created it since it deserves its own article. It would dominate any other article it would be put in, just look at the talk page of Charlie Sheen. I added it to the see also of Showbiz Tonight, since they broke the story in mainstream media, and hence it is higly relevant to the show. I added it to A.J. Hammer since he is the one resposible for the show accepting it, and also since he endorces me Sheen's version. The Ellis Henican link is obvious, since he participiate on a show on the sole reason of commenting the interviews. And please, stop accusing me of doing POINT, it rather upsets me. Peace.--Striver 03:04, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that you just created an article with an afd tag on it to prove a point, I would certainly say that you have violated WP:POINT several times recently. Furthermore, the sole reason you created this page was to promote the Charlie Sheen interview. Should the article stay? Yes. Should the POV that you are trying to promote about the Sheen interview stay here? No.--Jersey Devil 03:38, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did Wikipedia turn into LinkedIn?

[edit]

This reads like the guy's LinkedIn profile... 86.155.197.199 (talk) 18:42, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite

[edit]

I'm not sure if I've addressed the NPOV tag, as I'm not sure what the initial problem was, but the reason it reads like a Linkedin profile is because somebody flat-out lifted the article from Henican's webpage sidebar. I've rewritten and chopped out puffery as best as possible, but this will need more sources. MSJapan (talk) 23:01, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality check

[edit]

As I don't know what occasioned the POV template, I've asked that it be checked and any findings posted here. MSJapan (talk) 23:04, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@MSJapan: I'm just a random passer-by to this article, but I think your improvements were such that the tags are no longer warranted. Can they just be removed, or is there additional process that needs to take place before that happens? -Starke Hathaway (talk) 13:28, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Starke Hathaway: They can just be removed, mainly because a) nobody else has said anything to the contrary, and b) it's documented in the talk. I just honestly couldn't figure out what the problem was in the first place, because the original tag's been there for four years and nobody explained it. I think it was just the fluff and the fact that (IIRC) the bio material was from Henican's own site, but that's not a neutrality issue so much as a sourcing problem. MSJapan (talk) 16:20, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Roger that, I've removed them. -Starke Hathaway (talk) 17:04, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
