LGBT?
[edit]I find no sources that say anything other than "her companion". Given the volume of her writing, I would expect that, if she were a lesbian, it would be published or speculated somewhere. But if a reliable source is found that does state she was a lesbian, feel free to add the cat and info back. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 04:17, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

My only complaint is the parenthetical phrase at the end of the article, “She lived on…(the ironically named) Gay's Island.” First, it’s not ironic; please check a real dictionary.
