[edit]I'm not sure the one item listed in popular culture would actually be considered "popular" by any measure of the term, but I'm reluctant to unilaterally remove it. Anyone have thoughts? -=Worloq=- (talk) 03:27, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Should be removed from talk page
[edit]The existence of a religious community at Qumran is not an established fact. Rather it is a hypothesis that in the scholarly literature is looking increasing unlikely. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qumran#Qumran-Essene_hypothesis 2602:304:B31D:1D50:20FD:97D9:7617:BAA8 (talk) 01:13, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- The above statement seems out of context; It is not a reply to Worloq, and I am not sure what is being implied. The link leads to a debate about who may have occupied Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. The Dead Sea Scrolls are not being brought into question, so I don't see the relevance. Also, to state that the "existence of a religious community...is looking increasingly unlikely" isn't even accurate to the link provided, rather, they seem to be debating who occupied the site in what order and which religious group was there. - all peoples of that time were part of a religious group as you call it. 2600:8800:210:900:42B:954E:4634:E09C (talk) 06:25, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
