[edit]

I didn't get a chance to vote to keep this page, but I'm glad it has survived. It seems that Internet/Usenet personalities are the current bottom-of-the-ladder dwellers in the social hierarchy, the way Science Fiction fans once were, and actors were before them. I'm working on a Wikipedia entry to address that injustice — which will, of course, have to also survive deletion afterwards. David Barber

The infamous story that pissed off Larry Niven

[edit]

...isn't actually "The Only Fair Game". It was an early version of "Aaden's Revenge", which still exists via Google Groups' Usenet archive.. See https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/soc.motss/aaden$27s$20revenge/soc.motss/MJFfY0q1hCY/eX5Kiil95ZMJ and https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/soc.motss/aaden$27s$20revenge/soc.motss/K0Z1lyad1UQ/rgPZd27sfFsJ for the text (with a Kzin where there is an Uncia in revised versions) and https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt.tv.babylon-5/tDG1ty2PCcI%5B126-150-false%5D and http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1274293 for further background. (Current version of that story is at: http://pendorwright.com/journals/00512_026_000_Aaden%27s_Revenge.html)

It's apparent from the above, and from other evidence scattered around the 'net, that the setting of Elf's stories was originally much closer to Known Space, up to and including the inclusion of the Tellakelvar, who were clearly expys of the Pierson's Puppeteers. I'm not enough of a Wikipedian to edit this in, but it'd be nice if someone could. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.21.18.36 (talk) 07:30, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal: Pendor into Elf Sternberg

[edit]

Pendor was created by SarekOfVulcan some years ago, and was tagged for notability by Robofish almost seven years ago. To me, it doesn't seem WP:NOTABLE enough for its own article, but there may be a place for the information in this article. What do others think? Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 18:17, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Makes sense to me -- I haven't tracked Elf's Journal Entries in quite some time, and as the possibilities for hosting fiction online have exploded, it's less clear that this in particular deserves its own article. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 18:22, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I don't even remember this article. Pendor still seems of doubtful notability to me, though I haven't checked it again recently. But given how short both articles are, they could easily be merged together without losing anything of significance. Robofish (talk) 23:02, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article seems to have been defaced a few times

[edit]

I don't know how to revert things, but this article appears to have been defaced a few times recently, and I'm not sure how to revert them myself... however, I'm pretty sure he survived past age 2 and is still alive, unlike what the first sentence says.
