ITV's Answer to Dr. Who?

[edit]

The factoid below needs to have citation. Otherwise, it will be purged. Marketing propaganda doesn't count, while critical commentary by reputable (see WP:RS) news media does.

"Some commentators began referring to it as "ITV's answer to Doctor Who," based on the latter's recent successful return and the apparent similarities between the programs (especially the Jon Pertwee era, when the Doctor was based on Earth as a "scientific advisor" to UNIT)."

That was so obviously incorrect as to get my attention immediately. If anything, Eleventh Hour is more X-Files meets the Discovery Channel.Arcayne 03:39, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is hardly a distinction with the X-Files since The X-Files is not that much different from Doctor Who. --The Shadow Treasurer (talk) 18:27, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alan Hood/Ian Hood

[edit]

Some early announcements of this show (e.g. [1]) gave the protagonist's name as Professor "Alan Hood" rather than "Ian Hood". Was this changed because there's a real Professor Alan Hood at St Andrews University? KarenSutherland (talk) 09:38, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
