Incorrect

[edit]

This article is wrong! The electrophoretogram is the result of an eletrophoresis, which gives the movement of charged particles over time in a gel, paper or other medium. It is NOT a plot of fluorescence units over time, even though flourescence is often used to show the positions of the particles (often DNA). . Cheers, Migrant.

Spelling

[edit]

The word "electropherogram" seems to have a spelling mistake. Since the word is derived from "electrophoresis", the correct spelling should be "electrophoregram". Alce 17:17, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • The word you are looking for is electrophoretogram, a "record of the results of an electrophoresis" {source). — Reinyday, 19:51, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Uses

[edit]

I believe that electropherograms are also used to determine serum electrolytes. I suggest that this use be added to the article. Thomas.Hedden (talk) 14:39, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
