Created page for unified description of electoral and ethical reform
[edit]Hi, I created this page for 2 reasons: ethics and electoral reform. For ethics reform, it has been heavily documented that the Trump administration engaged in multiple ethics violations and breaking of ethics laws such as the Hatch Act, as well as faced accusations of abuses of power and corruption.[1] Biden pledged to sign executive orders and legislation for ethics reform. How successful he will be in maintaining an ethical administration we'll have to see.
On top of that, the attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election, voter suppression, partisan gerrymandering, growing influence of dark money and special interests in campaign financing, and many other problems in the electoral systems have strengthened the call for serious electoral reform. Congress already reintroduced the "For the People Act" which addresses electoral and ethics reform.[2]
Finally, I decided to combine ethical reform and electoral reform because in politics and media they are heavily interrelated topics. Politicians will engage in multiple ethics violations and exploit problems in our electoral systems to get themselves reelected. Thoughts on my views? :) Phillip Samuel (talk) 02:24, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
