[edit]Eldon Gardon was NOT built in the late 1990's as is claimed. It was in fact built in the late 1980's. This is backed-up by the following website: http://sine.ncl.ac.uk/view_structure_information.asp?struct_id=3456. I have modified the article accordingly. Gp100mk 08:59, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Water features
[edit]Water features were previously seen in some large courts or squares, however as a result of the 2008/2009 renovation, these have now been removed.
Eh? Most of the water features present at the time of opening had disappeared by 1990 if I remember correctly (certainly the one near the Monument entrance, outside what is now Boots, was long gone by then if not by the mid-80s), and I'm pretty sure there were no water features left at all by 2000 or so.
Water features must not currently be in vogue in indoor centres, as the Metro Centre (which opened with several) no longer has any either. 217.155.20.163 (talk) 23:08, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Anachronism
[edit]Unlike other noticeable shopping mall megastructures in the UK, such as the Tricorn Centre in Portsmouth, the unpopular brutalist grey concrete of the time was not used. Instead, most of the structure is built in a more acceptable textured brown brick and mirror glass.
The Tricorn Centre pre-dated Eldon Square by at least 10 years, surely? They weren't building brutal grey concrete malls by the 70s, that was a phenomenon of the mid-1960s (Gateshead's now obliterated Trinity Square, aka "get carter car park", being the most notorious example in this region). 217.155.20.166 (talk) 22:55, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
